- About The Black Olfactive Experience
It Started With One Question.
“Who is your favorite Black perfumer?”
I posted that question on TikTok expecting a conversation. Instead, the post went viral.
People shared it, tagged friends, saved it so they could return to the recommendations, and asked for more Black perfumers and fragrance houses to discover.
But I noticed something: many of the responses pointed to the same few names.
Those perfumers absolutely deserved the recognition—but I knew there were so many more Black perfumers, founders, and fragrance houses creating beautiful work that people simply had not discovered yet.
That was the spark behind
The Black Olfactive Experience.
What If It Became More Than A Post?
When I looked deeper at how people interacted with the post, I saw more than views. I saw curiosity, community, and a genuine desire to support.
People were looking for recommendations. They wanted to learn. They wanted to buy. They wanted to know the stories behind the fragrances.
And I thought:
A place where Black perfumers and founders could tell their own stories, emerging houses could be discovered, and fragrance lovers could experience the artistry behind the bottle.
Black Perfumery Is Bigger Than Skin.
To me, Black perfumery is not simply about the color of someone’s skin.
It is about legacy, memory, culture, family, ritual, innovation, entrepreneurship, joy, and lived experience.
It can smell like Sunday dinner at your grandmother’s house. A mother’s perfume before church. A barbershop. A first date. A favorite city. Music. Home.
Those memories become stories.
And sometimes those stories become fragrance.
Why We Exist
The Black Olfactive Experience was created to give Black perfumers, founders, emerging brands, established houses, creators, and fragrance lovers a place to connect.
We want someone to walk through our doors knowing three Black fragrance houses and leave knowing thirty.
We want founders to meet the consumers, collectors, retailers, creators, and industry professionals who are genuinely excited to discover their work.
And we want the stories behind the scent to matter just as much as the scent itself.
While we proudly center Black perfumery and Black olfactive culture, everyone who enters with curiosity, respect, and an authentic appreciation for fragrance is welcome.
Because celebrating Black artistry does not require excluding anyone else.
It simply requires creating the space for that artistry to finally receive the attention it deserves.

Our Vision
The Black Olfactive Experience is more than an event.
It is a platform for discovery. A marketplace for entrepreneurship. A gathering place for fragrance lovers. A stage for perfumers and founders. And a community committed to preserving and celebrating Black olfactive artistry.
We are building a place where Black perfumery is no longer the side conversation.
It is the conversation.
CULTURE. SCENT. LEGACY.
Welcome to The Black Olfactive Experience.
